I normally wear 12 in a 4E wide. A very wide boot. I have issue with painful bone spur comes out of right foot on side maybe 1 cm behind base of the pinky toe. How good is padding on side of these. Might I gain bit more room without having too much room if i go with 12.5 in 4E? Starting to wonder if I get the bone spur because maybe 12 is too cramped to begin with. Do you recommend I go with a 12.5 in 4e think this could allow foot to heal?

Going up half-size (12 → 12.5) in the same width (4E) often helps with length and can offer a bit more room overall — including some relief in the forefoot — without drastically increasing slack or instability inside the boot. Many people with wide feet do this to get a little extra space in the toe box. A bone spur on the outside of the foot often gets aggravated by compression between your foot and the boot’s sidewall, especially in a firm hiking boot. A slightly larger size (e.g., 12.5 4E) can help reduce lateral pressure, give your toes and forefoot more wiggle room, and decrease rubbing — but it won’t solve it if the toe box shape is still narrow.
